A woman from Maraval was robbed of a gold chain during a daylight robbery on Charlotte Street, Port of Spain on February 2, 2026, at approximately 3:54 p.m. The victim was walking on the western side of Charlotte Street near the Maraval taxi stand when she was approached by a slim-built man of African descent, approximately 5 feet 6 inches tall, wearing dark clothing and short afro hairstyle. The suspect approached the woman and demanded her property, then forcibly grabbed a Franko-link gold chain with a turquoise stone pendant valued at approximately TT$4,800 from her person. The victim attempted to pursue the suspect, but he escaped by running east along Duke Street. Police are investigating the robbery. The suspect remains at large.
