Rampersad, a dual T&T-UK citizen, was last seen alive on the night of January 14 after having dinner with relatives at a Curepe restaurant. He told relatives he would meet up with a woman he had interacted with on Instagram and return home. His body was subsequently found in San Raphael, in the same general area where his cellphone was discovered earlier. Investigators suspect robbery was the motive for the murder. Three suspects were charged in connection with the homicide: a teen girl (arrested Sunday, February 1), a 22-year-old La Horquetta man (arrested January 26), and a 36-year-old Santa Cruz woman (arrested Saturday, February 1). All three were charged by officers of the Region II Homicide Bureau on Thursday night, February 5.
