Doubles vendor robbed at gunpoint and beaten at St Helena Junction

Caroni South Bank Road, 3D Doubles stall at St Helena Junction, St Helena, Tunapuna - Piarco

A doubles vendor operating the 3D Doubles stall at St Helena Junction was robbed at gunpoint and assaulted on Monday night around 10:30 p.m. along Caroni South Bank Road. Two armed men approached the vendor; one brandished a firearm and announced the robbery before striking the vendor on the head. The victim handed over $1,500 in cash, two Samsung cellphones (A6 valued at $1,700 and A5 valued at $1,200), and keys to his white Nissan AD Wagon (registration PCZ 1141, valued at $45,000). The suspects escaped in the stolen vehicle in convoy with a blue motor vehicle of unknown make and model. Police described the first suspect as a light-brown complexioned male of medium build, approximately five feet eight inches tall, wearing a dark fisher's hat and long dark jacket. The second suspect is described as a dark-brown complexioned male of slim build, approximately five feet seven inches tall, wearing a red jersey and red cap. Investigations are ongoing.
