A 45-year-old labourer, Ashton Wells of Ramdhanie Trace, Indian Walk, Princes Town, was shot and killed in broad daylight on Concerned Citizen Street, California on Monday around 1:05 p.m. Wells was repairing a Kia 2700 one-tonne van in the company of another man when an armed man clad in a dark-coloured Muslim gown approached and opened fire. Multiple gunshots were heard at the scene, and Wells was found lying on his back on the roadway with apparent gunshot wounds. Crime scene investigators recovered 11 spent 9mm shells from the location. Police from the Central Divisional Task Force, Area South responded to the E999 Police Command Centre report and arrived shortly after. The deceased was transported and pronounced dead. Police are investigating the circumstances and motive of the shooting.
