Shawn Lezama, 47, was shot and killed outside his residence on Mc Donald Street in Curepe in the early hours of Wednesday morning, February 11th, 2026. He was discovered wounded near his home shortly after 5:30 a.m. after his common-law wife heard a series of loud explosions from inside the house and went outside to find him lying on the ground. With the assistance of a neighbour, Lezama was rushed to the Eric Williams Medical Sciences Complex in Mt Hope for emergency medical treatment. Despite medical efforts, Lezama was pronounced dead on arrival at the hospital. Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the shooting.
