Man stabbed multiple times in early-morning attack (Daryl Mungroo, 45)

Corner of Rosalino and Roberts Streets, Woodbrook, Port of Spain

Daryl Mungroo, a 45-year-old resident of Longdenville, was stabbed multiple times during an early-morning attack in Woodbrook on February 16th, 2026 at approximately 6:30 a.m. He was approached by a group of men at the corner of Rosalino and Roberts Streets, with one assailant shouting "look he dey" before the attack commenced. Mungroo sustained multiple stab wounds to his rib cage, pelvis, and back during the assault. He was transported to the Port of Spain General Hospital where he was admitted in stable condition. Police launched an investigation into the incident. The motive for the attack and the identities of the assailants remain under investigation.
