A 26-year-old police officer attached to Princes Town Police Station was assaulted by an unknown man in police uniform around 11:15 p.m. on Tuesday night while standing on High Street near the former Magistrate Court building. The suspect, described as East Indian descent, slim build, approximately 5 feet 10 inches tall, fair complexion, wearing a police uniform with grey shirt and blue pants, approached the victim and asked 'Wah you doing here' before grabbing his T-shirt and slapping him on the side of his face, causing injury. The victim required medical attention at Princes Town Health Facility for injuries sustained in the assault. The incident is under investigation by Princes Town Police. The suspect remains at large.
