A woman from Petit Bourg, San Juan, was robbed of her gold chain while waiting to cross a street at the corner of Queen and Nelson Streets in Port of Spain on Wednesday morning, February 25, 2026. At approximately 9:15 a.m., the victim felt someone tug at her neck from behind and turned to see a short, dark-complexioned man of African descent with cornrow braids holding her chain. The suspect immediately fled east along the street with the jewellery, which was valued at TT$4,500. Police are investigating the robbery. No arrests have been reported at this time.
