Two arrested, firearm and ammunition seized in Santa Rosa

Pinto Main Road, Santa Rosa, Arima

Officers attached to the Pinto Police Post conducted a road traffic exercise along Pinto Main Road, Santa Rosa between 6:00 p.m. and 10:00 p.m. on Saturday, 28th February, 2026. During vehicular and pedestrian traffic checks, officers stopped a red Hyundai Elantra and discovered the driver was wanted in the St. Joseph Police District for the offence of Interfering with a Motor Vehicle. A search of the vehicle and its occupants was conducted, revealing a black knapsack on the front seat passenger containing one black and silver Ruger SRP semi-automatic pistol fitted with a magazine containing seventeen (17) rounds of 9mm ammunition. Two individuals were arrested during the operation. The firearm and ammunition were seized as evidence.
