Two men charged with larceny after removing fixtures from vacant apartment (Johnathan Pierre, 37; Okang Rodriguez, 28)

Arima Old Road, Trestrail Housing Development, unoccupied apartment unit, Arima, D'Abadie , Tunapuna - Piarco

On Sunday, March 1, 2026, around 1:05 p.m., S.W.A.T Estate Officers on patrol at the Arima Old Road compound observed two men seated in a silver-grey Hyundai Trajet parked in front of a vacant apartment building at the Trestrail Housing Development. The men were subsequently seen entering an unoccupied unit and loading household fixtures into the vehicle, including a white ceramic bathroom sink, vanity cabinet, toilet assembly, paint buckets, drainage pipe, and plumbing hardware. When questioned by officers, the suspects claimed they were "passing through" and had decided to pick up items they had seen outside. One suspect allegedly told officers, "Officer giwwe a bligh nah." Both men were identified as 37-year-old Johnathan Pierre of Mt. Hope and 28-year-old Okang Rodriguez of Arouca. They were cautioned, arrested, and transported to the Arima Police Station with all recovered items, where they were formally charged with larceny.
