A Chaguanas family of four was invaded by five armed men at approximately 2 a.m. on Thursday morning at a residence on Joyce Road. The suspects cut through burglar-proofing on a front window to gain entry; two were armed with a firearm while three carried a cutlass and a pig foot. The intruders bound the victims' hands and struck two household members multiple times about the face, then stole $2,700 in cash, jewellery, an iPhone 13, and a white Toyota Prado valued at $90,000 before fleeing through the front door. Police later recovered the stolen Prado overturned in the vicinity of Madhoo Trace, Freeport, following investigation by officers of the Praedial Larceny Squad.
