Man arrested, homemade shotgun and ammunition seized in Piparo

Stone Road, Piparo, Guaracara Junction , Couva - Tabaquite - Talparo

Officers of the San Fernando and Gasparillo Police Districts conducted an anti-crime exercise under Operation Steady Guard on March 24, 2026. At approximately 5:20 a.m., officers proceeded to Stone Road, Piparo based on intelligence received and conducted a search of a premises. During the search, officers discovered one homemade shotgun and five rounds of 12-gauge ammunition concealed in a compartment of a kitchen shelf. A male suspect was arrested in connection with the find, cautioned and informed of his legal rights. The suspect was conveyed to the San Fernando Police Station where he remains pending further enquiries. The operation was coordinated by Snr. Supt. Simon and supervised by Sgt. Ag. Seecharan.
