Police officer stabbed by drunk pensioner

Around 6:30 PM, a 75-year-old man stabbed police officer Lewis once on the left side of her chest during a confrontation after she warned him about drunken, obscene outbursts. When Roger Chattergoonsingh intervened, the attacker also stabbed him once in the abdomen. Both victims were taken for medical attention — Lewis to Chaguanas Health Facility and Chattergoonsingh to Eric Williams Medical Sciences Complex. Officers from Cunupia Police Station arrested the suspect.
