Man robbed at knifepoint during Facebook Marketplace sale ($16,000 in electronics)

Ryner Street, off Old St. Joseph Road, Laventille, Port of Spain

A man travelled to Ryner Street, off Old St. Joseph Road in Laventille around 11:00 a.m. on March 27th to sell an Apple MacBook Pro and Apple AirPods valued at nearly $16,000 to a buyer he had contacted via Facebook Marketplace. Upon arrival, the suspect pulled a knife and demanded the items. The victim, fearing for his life, handed over the electronics. The suspect fled on foot. He was described as a slim-built man of African descent, approximately 5 feet 8 inches tall, dark complexion, short curly hair, with a noticeable gap between his front teeth.
