The body of a retired contractor from Santa Cruz was discovered by police at his property in Rampanalgas Village, Toco, on Friday morning. The victim, identified as Mr. Riley, had returned to the home on Thursday, January 9th—having last secured it in December—only to find it had been burglarized. He reported the break-in to the police that same day. However, after a relative was unable to reach him by phone, officers visited the residence around 11:00 a.m. on Friday and found him bound, gagged, and wrapped in a red sheet. Investigations are ongoing to determine if the murder is linked to the suspects involved in the initial burglary.
