A 25-year-old man from Morne Roache, Maraval, was lured to Duval Avenue on Friday afternoon under the pretense of purchasing an item from an unknown man. He was instructed to follow the suspect to another location along Upper Rich Plain, where he parked his van near a mini mart and waited. Three men in a vehicle pulled up and blocked him in. Two suspects exited, announced a robbery, and began assaulting the victim while the third kept watch. The assailants robbed him of cash totalling nearly $15,000 and continued beating him before forcing him out of his vehicle. The victim escaped on foot, running along the roadway and leaving behind his van and personal belongings. Police are investigating the incident.
