Piarco AirportWoman Arrested With 281.5g Cocaine, US$5,189 Cash

Piarco International Airport, Piarco, Tunapuna - Piarco

A Trinidadian woman from Carenage was arrested at Piarco International Airport on Monday morning before boarding a Caribbean Airlines flight to St. Kitts. An estate constable operating a security scanner detected anomalies during passenger screening around 10:55 a.m. and conducted a physical search, discovering a pink balloon strapped around the woman's waist containing 17 pellets of cocaine weighing 281.5 grammes, along with US$5,189 and TT$30 in cash found in her carry-on bag. The woman was arrested in connection with the findings.
