Building 3A, top-floor corridor, Oropune Gardens, Piarco, Piarco, Tunapuna - Piarco

A bulletproof vest was discovered concealed in the ceiling of a top-floor corridor in Building 3A, Oropune Gardens, Piarco during a joint police and military operation on Thursday, May 7, 2026. The intelligence-led raid, conducted between 4:00 a.m. and 10:00 a.m., involved the North Central Division Task Force, Trinidad and Tobago Regiment, K-9 Unit, Gang Unit, CID and other specialised teams searching 16 apartments in the building. Five people were arrested in connection with gang-related offences and ongoing larceny investigations, including one individual previously linked to a PDO. Investigations are ongoing.
