ArimaJoel Plaza (50) Shot Dead While Offloading Vehicle

Maturita Trace Extension, Bypass Road, Arima, Santa Rosa Heights , Arima

Joel Plaza, 50, was shot and killed outside his home on Maturita Trace Extension, Bypass Road, Arima on Friday afternoon around 3:55 p.m. while offloading materials from a white Kia van parked in his driveway. Plaza was discovered with multiple gunshot wounds about his body lying on the side of the roadway. A white Hyundai Elantra was seen speeding away from the area in a westerly direction shortly after the shooting. Crime scene investigators recovered multiple spent shell casings, including 7.62 and 9mm ammunition. Police are investigating; no arrests have been made.
