Charred body of man discovered in Morvant (age ~30)

Cipriani Extension (behind house #21, Cipriani Avenue Extension), Morvant, Port of Spain

Police discovered the partially burnt, lifeless body of a man of African descent lying in a bushy area near a bush fire off Cipriani Extension, Morvant, early Thursday morning, May 8, 2025. Officers from the San Juan substation responded to reports of a bush fire behind house #21, Cipriani Avenue Extension around 4:08 a.m. The victim, approximately 30 years old, slim-built with dark brown complexion, had his lower torso partially burnt. Fire officers extinguished the blaze and alerted officers at the Morvant Police Station. The District Medical Officer examined the body, made an official pronouncement, and ordered its removal. Police are investigating the death as a suspected homicide, though the exact circumstances and motive remain under investigation.
