Cell phone seller robbed and beaten in Facebook Marketplace transaction (Tunapuna resident)

George Street Plannings (second floor apartment), near Prince Street, Port of Spain

A resident of Pasea Road, Tunapuna, arranged to meet a man known as 'Marcel' via Facebook Messenger to sell an iPhone 13 Pro Max on Saturday, May 10, 2025, at approximately 2:30 PM. The victim was lured to an apartment on the second floor of the George Street Plannings building in Port of Spain under the pretense of visiting Marcel's cellular store. Once inside the apartment, the victim was accosted by four men, one of whom was armed with a firearm. The group violently beat the victim during the robbery. The perpetrators stole jewelry valued at $8,870 TTD, $500 in cash, and two iPhones (a 13 Pro Max and a 12, each valued at $4,500 TTD), for a total loss of approximately $13,370 TTD. Police investigation into the incident is ongoing.
