Company director robbed at gunpoint, licensed firearm stolen (48-year-old)

TGU Roundabout, San Fernando to Point Fortin Highway (Archibald De Leon Highway segment), Vance River , Siparia

A 48-year-old company director was robbed at gunpoint and had his licensed firearm stolen while changing a flat tyre along the San Fernando to Point Fortin Highway in La Brea on Wednesday evening at approximately 6:35 PM. The victim was exiting his vehicle at the TGU Roundabout when a white AD wagon approached from the opposite direction, and the front seat passenger—wearing three-quarter pants, white vest, and cap—exited and pointed a firearm at him, demanding his valuables. The gunman took $1,800 from the victim's pants pocket and a black knapsack containing a black Glock pistol with a 15-round magazine. The suspect then fled the scene in the AD wagon. Police canvassed the area but found no surveillance cameras in the vicinity to aid the investigation.

Vehicle Safety as a Habit: Most vehicle-related robberies are opportunistic — a car with a visible bag and an unlocked door is a target even in safe areas. Keeping windows up and doing a quick scan before exiting costs nothing and maintains the safety standard your neighbourhood has built.

The "Safe Haven" Status: With a safety score of 2.5, this area qualifies as a 'Safe Haven' zone, making it one of the most residentially stable pockets in the region.
