Finding Your Area

Getting Started · Updated 3 June 2026

Finding Your Area

Crime Hotspots covers hundreds of areas across Trinidad & Tobago. Each area has its own profile showing recent incidents, crime breakdowns, and a risk score.

The quickest way to find your area is the search bar at the top of any page (or press Ctrl+K / Cmd+K). Type the name of your neighbourhood, community, or district. Results appear instantly and include areas, crime incidents, and MPs — tap an area result to go directly to its profile. Your recent searches are saved for quick re-access.

Browsing the Areas page

Go to Trinidad Areas to see all covered neighbourhoods organised by region. You can:

  • Search by name — results update live with a count of matching areas; matching text is highlighted in amber
  • Sort by A–Z or Most crimes
  • Browse by region group — each group shows the MP strip for that region and links to all area profiles within it
  • See the risk score and incident count for each area at a glance
  • Click any area card to open the full area profile

What if my area is not listed?

Coverage depends on reported incidents. If an area has had no recorded incidents in our dataset, it may not appear as a standalone page. You can:

  1. Check the region page — your area may be grouped under a broader region
  2. Search using alternative names or spellings
  3. Contact us to suggest an area for inclusion

Reading an area profile

Each area profile shows:

  • Risk score (1–10): relative crime density over the past 90 days
  • Recent incidents: the latest verified crime reports for that area
  • Crime type breakdown: which types of offences are most common
  • Safety tips: context-specific advice based on the area’s crime profile
  • Nearby MPs: elected representatives for that constituency
