Partially burnt skeletal remains were discovered off a dirt track near Zircon Circular in Bon Air on Sunday afternoon by volunteers from the Hunters Search and Rescue Team. Officers from the North-Central Division were called to the scene and guided roughly a quarter mile off the roadway to a drainage area where the remains were located. A district medical officer visited and ordered the remains removed to the Forensic Science Centre pending post mortem examination. Investigators noted that key parts of the body, including the skull, sections of the arms below the elbows, and portions of the legs below the knees, were missing.
