A 22-year-old suspect was arrested during an intelligence-led operation targeting the Trinidad and Tobago Ride Share Robbery Ring on Orange Grove Old Road, Arouca on Wednesday, July 1, 2026, between 3:30 p.m. and 5:00 p.m. Officers of the Port of Spain Gang Intelligence Unit (GIU) conducted surveillance at the location based on information received. The suspect was subsequently lodged at the Belmont Police Station pending further enquiries by the Port of Spain CID Area East. The operation was spearheaded by Senior Superintendent Thom, Superintendent Baird, Superintendent Ramdeen, Assistant Superintendent Cadette, Inspector Durga, and Inspector Seelal, and directly supervised by Acting Sergeant Benjamin.
