Borde Narve man critically injured in brutal wood attack (Nicholas Deonarine, 32)

Cipero Road, Borde Narve (near scale yard), Borde Narve Village , Princes Town

Nicholas Deonarine, 32, was walking along Cipero Road in Borde Narve near the scale yard around 2:45 p.m. on Sunday when he stopped to speak with a neighbor. During the conversation, he was approached by a man he knows—identified as Sudesh Gunness—who was armed with a piece of wood. An argument allegedly broke out between the two men, during which Sudesh struck Nicholas in the head with the wooden object. Deonarine was rushed to San Fernando General Hospital by EHS and underwent emergency surgery for internal head injuries. He remains warded in the Intensive Care Unit in critical condition, suffering from a broken jaw, a fractured skull, and bleeding in the brain. Police are investigating the wounding with intent incident. Suspect Sudesh Gunness remains at large.
