A 46-year-old man from Morne Espoire Road, Paramin was driving near the Catholic Church at the corner of Morne Espoire Road and Saut D'Eau Road around 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 25, 2025, when he was attacked by a suspect he had offered a lift to. The suspect, 29-year-old Gymaque Chrichlow of Morne Cyril Road, Paramin, suddenly pulled a knife and demanded the victim surrender his vehicle, stating 'Gimme your car—I want it!' A violent struggle ensued inside the vehicle as the victim resisted the carjacking attempt. The victim managed to escape the vehicle, and nearby residents who witnessed the confrontation rushed to his aid. The residents subdued the suspect, restraining him by tying his hands and feet, and secured the knife used in the attack, which they handed over to police.
