Corporation worker shot dead in sleep during home invasion (Rennico Khan, 35)

Baron Avenue, Lumsden Street, Gasparillo, Couva - Tabaquite - Talparo

Rennico Khan, a 35-year-old San Fernando City Corporation worker, was shot and killed in his sleep during a home invasion at his residence on Baron Avenue, Lumsden Street, Gasparillo on June 4th around 3:30 a.m. A masked gunman emerged from a vehicle and approached the home, first encountering Khan's mother inside, to whom he made a chilling gesture—placing a finger to his lips and whispering "shhh"—before proceeding with the attack. The suspect then approached Khan's bedroom from outside, pointed a firearm through an opening, and opened fire, fatally wounding him. Khan was pronounced dead at the scene. The incident was a calculated and premeditated attack, with the gunman's deliberate silencing of the mother suggesting prior knowledge of the home's layout and occupants. Police launched an investigation into the motive and identity of the masked shooter.
