Laventille man shot and rushed into emergency surgery (Jamol Francis, 34)

Building 4, Trou Macaque Road, Laventille (Apartment 1-2), Port of Spain

A 34-year-old Laventille resident, Jamol Francis, was shot near his apartment in the Trou Macaque area on Friday night, June 6th, 2025. Around 9:35 p.m., officers of the Port of Spain Task Force responded to a report of gunshots at Building 4, Trou Macaque Road and found Francis lying in a pool of blood on the ground floor near Apartment 1-2, showing signs of life. Officers immediately transported him to the Port of Spain General Hospital where he was taken into emergency surgery. Francis remains in critical condition following the nighttime attack. The circumstances surrounding the shooting and the identity of the shooter remain under investigation by police.
