A 52-year-old shop owner was robbed at her home-based shop on Centenary Street, Tunapuna on Thursday morning around 11:08 AM. Two individuals posing as customers — a female in a grey hijab and a male in blue jeans, black jersey, and white hat — approached the victim; the male suspect violently shook and forced open the shop gate, injuring the victim's left index finger when she attempted to close it. Fearing for her safety, the victim retreated into her home and locked herself inside. The male suspect entered the shop and stole a Samsung cellphone, approximately $300 cash, and a quantity of cigarettes before fleeing the scene. Police are investigating the incident; no arrests have been reported.
