A man from Santa Cruz was kidnapped and held for ransom, with kidnappers demanding payment for his release. Officers from the Anti-Kidnapping Unit (AKU), Home Invasion Team (HIT), Criminal Investigations Department (CID) Operations Team, and Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF) were mobilised to locate and rescue the victim. The man was found in generally good health at a house in Success Village, Laventille around 3:30 PM on Thursday, May 7, 2026. The rescue operation was coordinated by DCP Intelligence and Investigations Natasha George with assistance from ACP Richard Smith and Senior Superintendent Anderson Pariman; no arrests have been made in connection with the kidnapping.
