A 20-year-old from Five Rivers, Arouca was robbed of personal belongings valued at approximately $600 on Independence Square North near Duncan Street, Port of Spain around 3:55 AM on Thursday, May 14, 2026. The victim was pushing a trolley when a teenager confronted him, demanded money, and robbed him of a wallet containing his Trinidad and Tobago identification card, NIS card, bank card, social development card, and two cellular phones. The victim immediately reported the robbery to Besson Street Police Station, and officers conducted searches in the Port of Spain area. While searching near the Bus Route at Market Street, the victim identified the teenager as his robber, and police detained the 17-year-old suspect. Officers recovered all stolen items in the suspect's possession, which were confirmed by the victim. The 17-year-old was taken to a juvenile facility following the recovery of the stolen property.
