ScarboroughElderly Man (62) Robbed of $4,700, Gold Chain in Daylight Attack

Near KFC, Scarborough, Tobago

A 62-year-old man from Speyside, Tobago was robbed near KFC in Scarborough on Wednesday, May 13, 2026 at approximately 1:00 p.m., losing $4,700 in cash, a gold chain, groceries, and personal items. An unknown man approached the victim from behind and grabbed him, causing his gold chain to fall to the ground. A second suspect then snatched the victim's black side bag containing the cash, a bag of tomatoes ($30), identification documents, and medication ($30), before both men fled the scene. Police are investigating the robbery; no arrests have been made.
