MorvantIllegal Taurus Firearm and Regiment Ammunition Seized After Crash

Police recovered an illegal Taurus firearm with a filed-off serial number and several rounds of 9mm ammunition marked TTR (Trinidad and Tobago Regiment) following a vehicle crash near Park and Ramier Street in Morvant on May 13, 2026. The firearm and ammunition were discovered after officers approached the crashed vehicle and the suspect allegedly threw a black metal object from the car before being detained. The seized firearm had its serial number deliberately filed off, indicating an attempt to conceal its origin and ownership. The ammunition was identified as Trinidad and Tobago Regiment-marked rounds, suggesting military-sourced munitions in civilian hands.
