Port of Spain$19,900 Fraudulently Withdrawn from Bank Account

Park Street, Republic Bank branch, Port of Spain

A man reported that $19,900 was fraudulently withdrawn from his Republic Bank account after his ATM card went missing in Port of Spain. The victim used his card at the Republic Bank branch on Park Street at approximately 5:00 a.m. on May 16, 2026, leaving a balance of $23,985 in his account. He discovered the card was missing later that same day after making account checks. On May 18, 2026, after obtaining a replacement card at the Republic Bank Ellerslie Plaza branch, he reviewed his account and discovered the unauthorized withdrawals. The victim confirmed he did not authorize any of the transactions that depleted his account. WPC Collette is continuing investigations into the matter.
