Officers from the Inter-Agency Task Force conducted a search of an abandoned structure on Belmont Valley Road, Belmont on May 23, 2026 between 3:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m. A black plastic bag hidden beneath a galvanised sheet was discovered containing one pistol, three rounds of .32 calibre ammunition, 210 grammes of cannabis and 110 grammes of cocaine. The operation was part of a broader exercise focused on the Port of Spain and North Eastern Divisions, including Perry Lane, El Socorro, Aranguez and Belmont Valley Road. The seizure was spearheaded by ACP Hazle, Snr Supt Ramnarine, Superintendent Ramsook and ASP Singh, and coordinated by Inspector Titus and Sgt Bethelmy.
