Jeremiah Santoo, 24, of Wallerfield was shot in the upper back and right leg during a violent confrontation in the Manuel Congo area of Arima around 12 a.m. on May 25, 2026. Santoo was leaving the area in a blue Nissan Almera with relatives and friends when several men began pelting bottles at the vehicle, forcing him to stop. The occupants exited the car to confront the group, at which point Santoo identified a man known as Renny armed with a long single-barrel firearm. Santoo heard a loud explosion and felt a burning sensation to his upper back and right leg, indicating he had been shot. He managed to re-enter his vehicle and drove himself to Arima Hospital for medical treatment. Police investigations are ongoing into the shooting and the identity of the armed suspect.
