Mayaro SecondaryStudent Assaults Police Officer During School Altercation

A female police officer attached to the School Oriented Policing Unit was assaulted at Mayaro Secondary School's administration office on Guayaguayare Road on Monday, May 25, 2026, around 12:25 p.m. The officer was attempting to break up a fight between three male students when one of the students allegedly assaulted her, causing minor injuries. The officer sought medical treatment at the Mayaro District Health Facility and was discharged the same day. The matter was reported to the Mayaro Police Station; investigations are ongoing.
