A woman was approached by two men on Charlotte Street near Cute and Beauty Store, Port of Spain on Thursday afternoon around 2:20 p.m. One suspect, described as a dark-complexioned, slim-built man of African descent with braided hair wearing a blue and red jersey, three-quarter pants and slippers, attempted to rip a gold chain and pendant valued at $2,000 from the woman's neck. A struggle ensued during the attempted robbery, with the victim physically resisting the attack. A nearby female vendor assisted the victim in fighting off the attackers. The two suspects fled south along Charlotte Street and escaped. Police are continuing investigations into the attempted robbery; no arrests have been made.
