The St. John Baptist Church Parish Office on St. Joseph Street, San Juan was burglarized overnight, with approximately TT$1,000 stolen from a forced-open cash box. An employee secured the office around 1 p.m. on May 27, 2026, but discovered the break-in upon returning around 6:30 a.m. on May 28 to find desks and cabinets ransacked. Investigators determined that the burglar gained entry by prying open a window to the Parish Priest's office on the southern side of the building, cutting and bending inward the metal burglar-proof bars, and forcing open the rear office door from the inside with locks removed from the burglar-proof gate.
