A 26-year-old man, identified as Kel Johnson, was killed on Saturday night following a shooting at a car park in Maloney Gardens. Officers responding to reports of gunfire found Johnson in the back seat of a vehicle with multiple gunshot wounds; he had earlier been seen lying motionless on a nearby footpath. Despite being transported to the Arima Hospital, he was pronounced dead shortly after arrival. Investigators recovered six spent 9mm shell casings at the scene.
