Point Fortin48-Year-Old Woman Raped by Drug Seller on Wednesday Night

Track approximately 100 feet off main road in Point Fortin village, Point Fortin

A 48-year-old woman reported being raped in Point Fortin on Wednesday night, June 3, 2026, shortly after 10 p.m. The woman told officers she encountered a man she knew while walking along a street in the village and asked if he had marijuana for sale. The suspect instructed her to follow him along a track located approximately 100 feet off the main road. Once on the track, he covered her mouth with his hand, warned her to remain quiet, and claimed friends were hiding in nearby bushes who would harm her if she resisted. The man then forced her to the ground and sexually assaulted her. After the assault, the suspect paused and the woman seized the opportunity to escape. Officers from the Point Fortin Police Station received a report at approximately 10:55 p.m. on Wednesday night and responded to the woman's home. Checks were conducted for the suspect on Wednesday night, but he was not found. The investigation is being led by PC Suruj.
