Five people were shot during a brazen attack on Upper Seventh Avenue North, Malick, Barataria on Friday afternoon shortly after 2 p.m., leaving two dead and three wounded. Residents reported hearing a barrage of gunfire during the incident. Two victims succumbed to their injuries while three others were rushed to hospital for emergency medical treatment. Police officers and crime scene investigators remained at the scene processing evidence; the motive for the attack remains unclear and the identities of all victims have not yet been released.
