Claxton BayTeen Arrested After Two Home Invasions on Nassiah Trace

Nassiah Trace, Springville, Claxton Bay, Sum Sum Hill , Couva - Tabaquite - Talparo

An 18-year-old man was arrested after police found him hiding in bushes with items allegedly stolen from two homes on Nassiah Trace in Springville, Claxton Bay. At approximately 3 a.m. on Saturday, a homeowner awoke to discover an intruder in his living room; the resident raised an alarm and the intruder escaped through a window, leaving behind a grey HP Notebook and PS4 valued at several hundred dollars. Minutes later, another resident on the same street was alerted that the intruder was attempting to break into her home; she hid in her bedroom and contacted her son while police were en route. Officers from the Couva CID pursued the suspect and found him hiding in nearby bushes with a PS4, jewelry, and $358 in his possession. The suspect was arrested and taken to the Couva Police Station where he was expected to be charged with home invasion; investigators believe the stolen items came from the two targeted homes.
