Police Constable Stefon Khan was charged with misbehaviour in public office following an investigation into the tampering and theft of police exhibits at Chaguanas Police Station. On February 25, 2026, a Crime Scene Investigator discovered that an evidence bag seal had been broken; cannabis blocks weighing approximately 2.2 kilogrammes had been replaced with tampered packages containing wood and a ceramic tile. The exhibits were originally collected on February 24 following a fatal police-involved shooting in the Central Division and included a firearm, ammunition, and the cannabis blocks. CCTV footage allegedly identified Khan removing the exhibits and replacing them with altered packages. Khan was charged and granted $350,000 bail but remains in custody under a preventative detention order. Police deny that the full $1.3 million in cannabis went missing, claiming all drugs were accounted for when the matter was investigated.
