AranguezPolice Exchange Gunfire with Suspected Home Invasion Suspects

Rambhaju Street East, Aranguez, San Juan, San Juan - Laventille

About 15 minutes after the home invasion robbery on Kings Street, officers spotted a white Nissan Tiida with two men in dark hoodies traveling along Rambhaju Street East, Aranguez around 4:20 a.m. on Thursday, June 18. Police attempted to stop the vehicle, but the driver tried to speed away. One officer reported hearing two explosions from the direction of the Tiida and observed a man lying across the vehicle's back seat. Believing they were under fire, the officer discharged his firearm at the car. The Tiida sped away and escaped the scene. Crime scene investigators later recovered 11 spent 9mm shell casings from the area. The getaway vehicle was identified as a white Nissan Tiida bearing registration number PDB 3795. No arrests have been made and investigations are continuing under Acting Assistant Superintendent Bisnath.
