Dow VillageTenant Slashed Multiple Times in Violent Apartment Dispute

A 37-year-old labourer was attacked with a sharp object by another tenant at a California apartment building in Dow Village New Settlement on June 14, 2026 at approximately 11 a.m. The dispute escalated after the victim left a casual gathering with friends on the ground floor and went upstairs to his apartment. The suspect allegedly armed himself with a sharp object and launched an attack, inflicting multiple injuries to the victim's head and back during the violent confrontation. Friends heard the victim's cries for help and rushed upstairs to intervene, separating the two men while they were engaged in a scuffle. The suspect fled the scene on foot along Dow Village New Settlement before police arrived. The injured man was transported to Couva Health Facility and later transferred to San Fernando General Hospital for further medical care.
