Fernandes Industrial Estate, Laventille, Port of Spain

Approximately TT$500,000 worth of electrical copper cable was stolen from Fernandes Industrial Estate in Laventille on June 18, 2026. The missing item was a large wooden spool containing three-inch black electrical copper cable that had been stored outside a warehouse at the compound. Company officials discovered the spool had been removed several days after June 18 when checks revealed the cable could not be located; no authorization had been given for its removal. Investigators obtained cellphone footage capturing the vehicle used to transport the spool from the property—a yellow wrecker bearing registration number TCD 4072. Officers of the Besson Street CID are continuing investigations into the brazen daylight heist.
