A 19-year-old man from Santa Cruz transferred $3,400 to a Republic Bank account in the name of G. Smith on June 18, 2026, believing he was purchasing a Samsung S24 Ultra phone advertised on a TikTok page called 'Phone World TT'. The seller promised delivery via courier service, but the phone never arrived and all subsequent contact attempts—via phone calls and TikTok messages—went unanswered. The victim was deceived into transferring funds for a product that was never delivered, with no legitimate business behind the transaction. The scammer remains unidentified and at large; the victim lost the full amount with no recovery prospects.
