A 55-year-old man from Carli Bay, Couva was arrested moments after allegedly beating and slashing his 41-year-old ex-wife during an altercation at her Carli Bay Road home around 8 PM on Monday, June 22, 2026. During the altercation, the suspect reportedly doused his ex-wife with a flammable substance before taking a knife and a piece of steel to beat her. Other family members intervened during the assault, allowing the victim to escape and seek medical attention. Police arrested the 55-year-old suspect immediately after the incident; investigations are ongoing.
